Equestria at War utilizes unique traits for commanders. They may be modified in common\unit_leader\eaw_traits.txt.

Land Commanders

Personality traits

These traits can not be gained through experience and generally don't affect subordinate unit leaders. The vast majority are scripted for use with certain commanders, though a few can appear on newly appointed commanders.

Either a former pilot or an air force officer relegated to army command, this general uses their experience to better coordinate joint air and land operations. New commanders can spawn with this trait if early fighters have been researched. Chances are improved if there are over 100 points of Air Experience in reserve. Air Superiority bonus is applied to ground troops, not aircraft.

Through rigorous study and harsh tiles, they have unlocked their Anamarm making them a near unstoppable force in personal combat to mortals. New commanders may spawn with this trait if country is Flag of Ponaidhean Ponaidhean

Tzyca Tezischia joined forces with the Lunar Rebellion not out of a sense of unity with her nocturnal siblings but rather out of a desperate need for survival. Her loyalty stand primarily with the bat ponies she leads and that loyalty is repaid in kind as she can inspire a fierce fighting spirit from her troops. While her loyalty to the Lunar matriarch is questionable, Tzyca's skill in the battlefield is a useful asset that'd be a shame to squander.

While all changelings are experts in subterfuge and deception, The Queensguard understand the truth of war, battles are won by the merciless application of overwhelming force. Their combat doctrine dictates that any battle where their capacity to fight and willingness to die exceeds that of their enemy is a battle already won—everything else is merely a matter of time and attrition.
