Our Town is a landlocked city-state localized in Northern Equus, bordering the Flag of Crystal Empire Crystal Empire to the west, Flag of Stalliongrad Stalliongrad to the south and Flag of Nova Griffonia Nova Griffonia to the east.

It once used to be part of Flag of Equestria Equestria, together with Flag of Stalliongrad Stalliongrad. But with the revolution in Severyana, and the subsequent creation of Flag of Stalliongrad Stalliongrad, the province where the city was founded was given to Starlight Glimmer and her followers, who then founded Our Town.

Lore

Starlight Glimmer

Our Town was once a small barren land of dry valley under Flag of Equestria Equestria, but following the socialist revolution in nearby Severyana region and the subsequent establishment of Flag of Stalliongrad Stalliongrad, the land was given to Starlight Glimmer and her followers by the Supreme Soviet in Stalliongrad, who tolerated her radical ideology of Equalism. She and her loyal followers built the first houses on the land, planting the roots of Our Town.

Starlight Glimmer's philosophy of Equalism sought to create a society reformed through sameness. A utopia of true happiness can only be obtained when society is one and the same. Under her rule, she brought her followers together in a true equal, cutie mark-less society; at least, that's how it seemed. Under the facade, while she preached true equality, she refused to embrace it herself and remove her own cutie mark. Starlight Glimmer forcibly removed the cutie marks of her followers with her own magic, ensuring "true" equality. She kept the cutie marks of her followers in a vault hidden near the mountains surrounding the town.

In 1004, Twilight Sparkle and the Elements of Harmony arrived at Our Town. While initially successful in obtaining the cutie marks of the Elements of Harmony, Starlight Glimmer was ultimately ousted as a fraud through Fluttershy's cunning actions. Exposed, Starlight attempts to flee with the cutie marks of the Elements bearers, but the liberated townsfolk caught up with her. She escapes, losing the cutie marks in the ordeal, which were eventually returned to the bearers.

Since then, Our Town has recovered and even flourished. But landlocked between Flag of Stalliongrad Stalliongrad and the griffons of Flag of Nova Griffonia Nova Griffonia, Our Town is left isolated from the rest of the world. Under pressure from Stalliongrad, Our Town formalizes a communist-leaning government under Double Diamond, Starlight Glimmer's former second-in-command, in an attempt to appease its Southern neighbor. The commune continues to strive for an equal and harmonious life.

Our Town, disconnected from the rest of the world, must rely on Stalliongrad for help and support. But that may soon change, as Stalliongrad may seek to re-integrate the province that was formerly theirs...

Our Town starts with Civilian factorytwo civilian factories and a single Military factorymilitary factory. Compared to its vastly larger and intellectual neighbors, Our Town's total population is minuscule with around 275k. Despite that, the city-state is highly developed, utilizing 3 research slots, a developed research base, negligible poverty, and negligible illiteracy. Two extra research slots can be obtained through the focus tree.

Militarily, Our Town starts with 4k deployed ponies and 143 ponies in the ponypool. Consisting of just a single army division of 4 infantry battalions, Our Town has no navy or airforce whatsoever.

Threats and Opportunities

Our Town is a masochist's dream with a lot of time. Without access to the sea, you are landlocked between the Crystal Empire, Nova Griffonia, and Stalliongrad.

Playing defensive is a breeze with strong fortifications. If going offensive, taking out Stalliongrad and Nova Griffonia alone is very tricky but can be accomplished.

Our Town's focus tree consists of a centralized political focus tree and a small industry focus tree on the top right. A central infrastructure/research tree is shared between mutually exclusive focuses Our Neighbors and The Teachings of Twilight Sparkle.

Our Elections

After years of isolation and dictatorship under the Cult of Equalism, the people of Our Town look to new leaders to prosper in a bright future. Two leaders step up in hopes of breaking the town's isolation: Double Diamond, a faithful follower of Starlight Glimmer's Equalist philosophy, and Feather Bangs, a local figurehead and firm believer in Twilight Sparkle's Harmonist principles.

After completing Goal generic elections.pngOur Elections, an election event appears, determining the outcome of Our Town's future.

Double Diamond Wins! Communism

Double Diamond

Electing Double Diamond establishes a Pro-Stalliongrad policy. Flag of Our Country Our Country is formed and the New Equality Party stays the de facto ruling party. With aid from Flag of Stalliongrad Stalliongrad, Our Country gains extensive bonuses for factory construction and output, population growth, and additional military bonuses for its army.

Further down the branch, Our Country may obtain war goals on both Flag of Stalliongrad Stalliongrad and Flag of Nova Griffonia Nova Griffonia after completing Goal crush stalliongrad.pngOur Stalliongrad and Goal planning bonus.pngOur Liberation of the Colony respectively.

Feather Bangs Wins! Harmony

Feather Bangs

Electing Feather Bangs establishes a Pro-Equestrian policy. The Party of Great Harmony becomes the ruling party. Our Town is renamed The city of Flag of Townsville Townsville, a friendlier tone inspired by the likes of Ponyville. With aid from Flag of Equestria Equestria, Townsville gains defensive bonuses with additional forts and an airbase. Townsville can send additional volunteers after completing Focus generic paratrooper.pngEquestrian Expeditionary Forces.

In addition, Townsville can further benefit from a military alliance with Flag of Equestria Equestria.

Our Town can obtain a war goal on Flag of Stalliongrad Stalliongrad via national focus Goal crush stalliongrad.pngOur Stalliongrad. If Our Town capitulates and occupies all original Stalliongrad cores, Our Town unlocks the decision "Our First Step" to integrate Flag of Equestria Equestria.

When taken, Our Town forms Flag of Our Stalliongrad Our Stalliongrad and the Equality Pact faction, gaining cores on all Stalliongrad provinces. Our Stalliongrad becomes the new capital. Our Stalliongrad inherits all current Stalliongrad technologies and gains four Stalliongrad Army generals. The New Equality Party becomes the Stalliongradian Equalist Party. Several Stalliongradian cities are renamed in honor of the philosophy of Equalism.

If Our Stalliongrad capitulates Flag of Equestria Equestria and occupies Canterlot, Manehattan, Whinnysota, Bales, and Fillydelphia, Our Stalliongrad unlocks the decision "Our Greatest Achievement" to integrate Flag of Stalliongrad Stalliongrad.

When taken, Our Stalliongrad forms Flag of Our Equestria Our Equestria and gains cores on Equestria. Canterlot is renamed Equalopolis and becomes the new capital. Equestrian technologies are inherited. The Stalliongradian Equalist Party becomes the Ponies' Equalist Party.

Strategies

You should start doing "Our First Factory" and "Our Second Factory" to give you a headstart on building things faster. After that do the two focuses leading up to "Our Election". During "Our Election", you pick between Double Diamond (Communist) or Feather Bangs (Harmony). Feather Bangs is currently unfinished so picking Double Diamond is your best bet.

If No Step Back No Step Back DLC is enabled, build up your army experience early on to unlock Ideological Loyalty in your Officer Corps which grants a weekly +500 ponypower.
