“ | Hippogriffia is the home of the Hippogriffs and Seaponies. It is a harmonic absolute monarchy, still recovering from years of isolation under the waves. Queen Novo protected her country during the Storm War, though some think she could have done much more to stop the Storm King's ravages. But even as the royal court reels from the changing world and balances the demands of international diplomacy and isolationists at home, new ideas trickle in. Republicanism and even communism are on the rise, and it remains to be seen how the Queen will respond. Will Hippogriffia stay the course of harmony, will it embrace the extreme ideas of the left, or will it fall back into reaction to avoid them?

Lore
Legend has it that when the daughter of the sky god An and the son of the sea goddess Tiamat fell in love, their parents created for them a paradise where the ocean meets the heavens, and gave to them the Pearl of Transformation, so that they could move freely between land, sea, and sky. That paradise was the twin realms of Mount Aris and Seaquestria, and their descendants were the first of the Hippogriffs and the Seaponies. For many millennia, the two realms flourished and prospered, with anycreature able to change forms by petitioning the high priest-kings to use the Pearl of Transformation. During this time, the two realms wanted little to do with the outside world, and life was simple but good.
Over time however, the priest-kings grew greedy, demanding lavish tributes to even see the Pearl of Transformation, much less use it. The two realms drifted apart, with the hippogriffs looking to the outside world, to North Zebrica and Equestria, and the seaponies turning inward. Local nobles and merchants came to dominate society, bringing prosperity to the land but also dissatisfaction with the arrogant and distant priest-kings. Finally, in the year 523 ALB by Equestrian reckoning, one family of nobles rebelled against the priest-kings and their monopoly on the Pearl.
This family, known now as the Royal Line of Novo, rallied both seaponies and hippogriffs to unite into one Kingdom of Hippogriffia, with the Pearl of Transformation now freely available to any creature who wished to use it. They established a tradition of twin capitals: one on Mount Aris, the other in Seaquestria, with the king or queen dutifully moving their court between the capitals every six months, and practiced a form of Absolutist Harmony inspired by Princess Celestia.
And so it was for many generations: an unbroken line of kings and queens, each one designating a single heir based on which displayed the greatest wisdom and compassion. Change came gradually, usually introduced from above in small portions. Even the industrial revolution was brought in relatively-orderly fashion during the reign of King Skylance and his daughter Queen Novo, who has reigned for the last thirty years.
Of course, Hippogriffia could not stay apart from the chaos of the world forever. When the Storm King's armies set their sights on North Zebrica, Queen Novo began the creation of a grand army. But when it became clear they would not have enough time before the Storm King arrived, Novo, heeding the counsel of Royal Advisor Raft Wood, used the Pearl of Transformation to evacuate the population of Mount Aris into Seaquestria.
The two years spent beneath the waves were hard on the hippogriff population, and caused rifts to form between those who had always been seaponies and those forced to adopt seapony ways to survive. Cut off from information about the outside world, forced to abandon their homes, many secretly called Queen Novo a tyrant and a coward, abusing the Pearl just as the old Priest-Kings had. The Queen's own daughter Princess Skystar agitated to return to the surface and confront the Storm King. But it was only thanks to the intervention of the Equestrian Element Bearers that Novo finally relented, and sent the hippogriff army to attack the Storm King's forces massed at Ain Trotgourait.
The Battle of Ain Trotgourait changed the course of history. The Storm King's armies taken completely by surprise, their airships were shot down by the mighty Hippogriff airforce with the flagship downed by the famous ace pilot Crack Lightning. The Storm King himself was betrayed and slain by his own lieutenant after Princess Skystar and the Element Bearers battled their way past his retinue. The Storm King's conquests were cut short in a single day, but Hippogriffia had changed forever. Seeing the devastation he had wrought on their neighbours while they hid, many Hippogriffs declared that they would never hide again, and began going abroad to see the larger world, bringing back foreign ideas with them. Meanwhile many seaponies see recent events as proof that Hippogriffia should avoid the barbaric wider world, lest they become warmongers too.
Seeing Hippogriffia beginning to fray, Queen Novo fired Raft Wood and had the Pearl of Transformation divided into millions of tiny shards, giving up the power which the monarchy had held for so long: now any Hippogriff or seapony could transform at will. She also sent her niece Silverstream to study friendship in Equestria, and set up a reconstruction mandate and refugee zone in the zebra kingdom of Zumidia, in order to prevent the kingdom falling into anarchy after the murder of their king by the Storm King and the devastation his armies brought.
Now, Hippogriffia stands at a crossroads. Will they stay true to Harmony, or will they reject their monarchy in favour of new ideals? Will they become an active player on the world stage, or retreat into isolation once more?
Geography
Hippogriffia is historically an island nation, with the recent acquisition of Zumidia being its only continental territory. Hippogriffia is dominated by Aris, the second-largest island in the world. Aris has several jungles spread across its land, broken up by rivers, plains and the Arisian mountain range, which run in a curve from north to south. Aris has several urban areas, such as Mount Aris, Howlington, Canterford and Winggarden. Moving away from Aris, several other Hippogriffian islands lie near it, such as Talonzatore, Terrarife, Terraceia and Grand Alaudia. Grand Alaudia has jungles in the north and hills in the centre of its southern end, and the Feathered Isles to the northwest of Aris also have a hill range on its eastern end, but otherwise the islands are plains. To the southwest, between the Wingbardian colony of Purrsia and the
Aquileian colony of
Les Meridiennes lie the Trots and Canters Islands, a small archipelago with hills and jungles on its largest island and consist of plains for the rest.
Zumidia, Hippogriffia's only territory on continental Zebrica, has an urban area in Ain Trotgourait, the Aurez Hills in its northern reaches near the Colthaginian border and two jungles further inland. One river flows through Zumidia into the sea, and the landscape is dominated by plains, especially in its eastern and southern reaches.

National focus
- Main article: Hippogriff national focus tree
- Hippogriffia's focus tree consists of five branches: a political tree, a navy tree, a primacy tree, an army tree, and an air force tree.
Placating The Isolationists Branch
- This is the main political branch for Hippogriffia where the decision is made to remain either closed or open up the country. Depending on the choice made the player can continue to either the non-aligned path or the communist path, if they manage to get enough support. The harmonic path is taken in case the support for Aris First isn't enough or the player can choose between harmonic and communist, as long as there is enough communist support, if they took path to open up the country.
- While Hippogriffia starts the game with a strong navy, improving it further is a key to success for an island nation. Several focuses provide doctrine bonuses as well as navy XP, while others provide research bonuses to radar, destroyers, cruisers, and submarines. The player can choose to invest into improving marines and convoys as well as making all ship types cheaper to build. However the main attraction is choosing between a battleship or carrier-focused navy, allowing the player to build super-heavy battleships with ease, or improving both carriers and their planes.
Seapony and Hippogriff Primacy Branch
- This branch is required in order to access the army branch. The player must choose between improvements to their navy or air force, however most focuses in the subtree can be taken regardless of which path is chosen. Among the shared focuses included bouses to underwater factories, industry research, improvements to oil resource gain, and a research slot. The player can choose between underwater, offmap civilian factories or improving infrastructure on the main island of Aris. On the seapony side are bonuses to dockyard output and repair speed, as well as even more boosts to submarines shared with the navy branch. The hippogriff side includes a unique design company for aircraft, as well as production bonuses to said aircraft.
Army Branch
- This branch can be accessed by first choosing between either seapony or hippogriff primacy. The army tree has many good bonuses to many aspects of the Hippogriffian army, including division org, planning bonus, and even military factory construction speed. The left side includes focuses that provide valuable ponypower, while the center focuses provide land doctrine and special forces bonuses. The rightmost focuses are technology-centered, with bonuses for infantry equipment, support companies, artillery, motorized/mechanized and tanks.
Air Force Branch
- Hippogriffia is capable of producing a formidable air force, and it's air force tree helps greatly in accomplishing that. The initial focus gives the player a large amount of air XP, as well as a pair of military factories to ramp up air production. The player can choose between concentrating on close air support with Battlefield Support doctrine, or focus of strategic bombers with Strategic Destruction. Various bonuses for all plane types can be found throughout the tree including heavy fighters, tactical bombers, strategic bombers, and close air support. The right side of the tree provides boosts to ace generation, air XP gain, air doctrine cost, and finally bonuses towards researching rocketry, jet, and atomic technologies.

Queen of the Hippogriffs and the Seaponies
|
Born: 9th of May, 944 in Seaquestria.
Biography: For the last thirty years, Aris and Seaquestria have been ruled by the steady claw -or fin- of Queen Novo. Novo's reign has been highly eventful, to say the least. Its early years were marked by completing the integration of industrial production into Hippogriffia's economy, a process started by her father King Skylance. Novo managed to soften industrialism's birth-pangs by impressing strong Harmonic values upon the industrialist class, preferring to lead by example rather than force. The second decade of her reign was marked by a long period of stability and peace, with Aris retreating from North Zebrican affairs and establishing closer ties with Equestria and New Mareland. All that changed when the Storm King attacked. Unwilling to risk total destruction as had befallen so many other nations which had faced his wrath, Novo evacuated the population and industry of Mount Aris to the underwater realm of Seaquestria. There, she prepared for an eventual confrontation. Her fin forced by her precocious daughter and the Equestrian Elements of Harmony, Novo's forces defeated the Storm King and reclaimed Aris. However, the evacuation left deep scars, and Novo has had more and more difficulty balancing the needs of her creatures: seaponies and hippogriffs clash and the new generation of industrialists abandons Harmonic values in the name of profit, all while the new generation of workers and students turn to radical ideas. Throughout her long reign, Novo has proven herself a master of negotiation, or some would say concession. She has proven herself a pragmatic ruler, or some would say a coward. She has been a rock of stability in a rapidly changing world, or some would say she has held Hippogriffia back. Some whisper that she plans to retire in favour of her daughter Skystar, others long for a change of pace, but most Arisians simply could not imagine an Aris without Queen Novo. Portrait By: Kessel |

Born: 14th of May, 980 in Seaquestria
Biography: For most of her childhood, Posada was ostracised by her peers. But she liked it that way, it left her more time to explore and play with her imaginary friends. She became an apprentice bookmaker in her teenage years. When she first went to the surface, she looked upon the stars in wonder and often would stargaze while contemplating if there were creatures on other worlds. It was on one such night she accidentally drifted over towards Zebrican territory and was captured by the Storm King's forces. Posada was chained inside the cargo hold of an airship full of looted trophies and treasures from Colthage. During the long journey she suffered at the hands of her yeti captors, but one night she was able to break free of her shackles. Sneaking through the ship's hold, she was seeking to make a quick escape and then follow the stars home when a flash of green light caught her attention. The light ebbed from out the crack in the lid of a large golden chest intricately carved with images of horned beasts and bowing goats. Unable to help herself, she broke the chains and opened the lid. What she saw would change her forever. Images flashed before her eyes, images of things nogriff should ever know. Images of conflict, strife, poverty and the stars, so many stars. She saw galaxies of the scale of atoms. She saw how stars burned. And more, much more, she could not understand. It is unknown how she returned to Hippogriffia. Her mind was broken, and it was months before she could talk in coherent sentences again. Shortly after the Storm King's defeat, a copy of the works of Caramel Marks crossed her desk at work. She found the book as a symbol that she was destined to rediscover what the chest had shown her and to free everycreature from the shackles of capitalism and monarchy. She founded the Revolutionary Workers' Party and quickly started preaching her ideology to every hippogriff and seapony she could. Born: 24th of July, 984 in Starfield
Biography: As the youngest daughter of a lower middle-class family, Starry Eyes enjoyed a happy childhood. She loved spending time with her many friends, but she was also known to spend hours by herself engrossed in a good book. On occasion she read about politics and history, but her favorites were always works of fiction and poetry. Like many other hippogriffs, her life was upended by the Storm King's arrival in 1005. Moving underwater could have been disastrous for her family, as her parents were unable to work and there wasn't enough food and shelter to go around. However, a generous seapony invited the whole family in and shared what he had with them. Starry would never forget this random act of kindness, and it inspired her to always help creatures in need. When the Storm King was finally defeated she decided to remain in Seaquestria. She was working at a soup kitchen when she first met Posada, who convinced her to join the newly formed RWP Her talent for organizing and her ability to make friends with everyone helped her rise through the party's ranks rapidly. By the time Posada announced her retirement, Starry had already been elected to the Supreme Workers' Council and the Presidium. Now serving as General Secretary, she is continuing most of Posada's policies while also trying to step out of her shadow. Instead of investing heavily in technological progress, Starry believes the revolution will be best served by reforming the social relations between creatures. Portrait By: Neither |

Silverstream, niece of Queen Novo and graduate of Princess Twilight Sparkle's School of Friendship, was the last creature anyone expected to become the new General Secretary of Revolutionary North Zebrica
When the revolution came to Hippogriffia, Silverstream chose not to flee like many other members of the extended royal family. Instead she took the advice of her cousin Skystar and formed a harmonist faction within the RWP. Her platform of curbing the revolution's worse excesses and improving relations with Equestria attracted many followers. After Posada's death both the party and the people wanted a leader who could restore some semblance of normalcy, and they turned to Silverstream. But fulfilling the people's hopes is easier said than done. Silverstream never wanted to be General Secretary, and she now finds herself in a very precarious position. Posada's many crimes have done severe damage to the government's reputation, and the effects of other communist policies remain divisive issues. Silverstream will have to tread carefully if she hopes to restore any form of harmony to her troubled homeland. Portrait By: RyanBoi |

Ruthless Anti-Revisionist
|
Born: 16th of September, 977 in Seaquestria
Biography: Among the seaponies, having a lure is seen as a sign of nobility. For Hard line, it is a reminder of a past that has haunted him for his entire life. Hard Line, born with the name Kelp Strand, was the product of an affair between a highborn duchess and a poor mechanic. His mother abandoned the family just after he was born. His father tried his best to provide a good life, but living on the edge of poverty meant that times were often hard. Kelp's origins as a bastard child frequently made him the target of insults and mockery from his peers, and over time he came to blame his mother for all the indignities he suffered. Among the many enemies of the revolution, those of royal or noble birth are the only ones he truly despises. Kelp Strand was always a very bright student, excelling in all of his classes. It was in school that he first came across the collected works of Caramel Marks, which he devoured voraciously. He soon developed a set of ultra-orthodox Marksist beliefs, upholding dialectical materialism with almost religious fervor. Even world-renowned revolutionaries like Steel Stallion are considered revisionists within his framework. To showcase the strength of his convictions he adopted the name Hard Line. Hard Line joined the RWP as a founding member and quickly became one of Posada's chief advisors. Although he was often critical of her policies, he never broke with the party of the General Secretary. Now Posada's untimely demise has allowed him to take control, beginning a dark new chapter in the history of Revolutionary North Zebrica. Revisionists, reactionaries, even those with no interest in politics: none are safe in a state that has declared compassion and basic decency to be "bourgeois constructs." Portrait By: Egil |

The Ace
|
Born: 4th of February, 977 in Harmonizing Heights.
Biography: Crack Lightning became a household name during the Storm War and has remained one ever since. He is known for being many things: a heroic fighter ace, talented and adventurous aviator, and a bombastic nationalist firebrand. But one thing most people did not know about him until very recently is that he was also a close friend of Posada. Just after the war Crack was introduced to Posada, whose miraculous escape from the Storm King had earned her minor fame. The pair bonded over their mutual hatred of the yeti conquerors and shared desire to embrace new ideas. Although Posada became a marksist while Crack took inspiration from Wingbardian fascists, they remained on friendly terms in private. As Posada took control of the state and expanded it across North Zebrica by force, Crack came to see her communist party as a possible vehicle for his own ideas of hippogriff hegemony. He unexpectedly asked to form a National Communist wing of the RWP, and Posada even more unexpectedly allowed it. Crack Lighting supported all of Posada's most controversial policies, especially her brutal treatment of the Chiropterrans. He believes that Skystar and other harmonists unjustly vilified Posada for doing what was right and drove her to suicide. Now that fortune has placed him in the General Secretary's chair, his priorities are twofold: build the hippogriff hegemony he's always dreamed of, and take revenge on those responsible for the death of his friend. Organizer of Labor and Defense
|
Born: 22nd of December, 977 in Seaquestria.
Biography: Salina Blue was always a shy, reclusive seapony. She never wanted to rule a town, let alone all of Aris. But fate, it seems, had other things in mind for her. Before the final battle with the Storm King she met Fluttershy, Element of Kindness, and she came away more confident and self-assured, though still shy. A radio operator from a poor family, she came to read the works and deeds of Alexander Kemerskai, Théodore Vérany, Caramel Marks, and even the peasant revolts throughout history. Realizing that a better life was not only possible but achievable, she became a founding member of one of Hippogriffia's first unions, the Arisian Union of Telegraphists, and served in Posada's government. With the loss of Zumidia and the collapse of Posada's revolutionary government, a new one has been instituted: republican, not revolutionary. The Workers' Republic of Aris may not be as visionary or future-minded as Revolutionary North Zebrica, but it will hopefully prove more stable and long-lasting. Salina may lack her predecessor's fiery rhetoric and ferocious dreams, but is determined to do the best for all the people of Aris and lead the nation into a brighter future. Portrait By: Venva |

The Ace
|
Born: 4th of February, 977 in Harmonizing Heights.
Biography: If you'd asked anygriff what Crack Lightning's future held after his rise to fame as an ace pilot in the Storm War, none would have guessed he planned on becoming the voice of the Aris First nationalist movement, much less the supreme commander of Aris' armed forces or the de facto ruler of Hippogriffia. Few now remember that Crack Lightning opposed the move to Seaquestria following the Storm King's arrival, nor that until his rise to fame he had never particularly cared for traditionalism, for all of that has been wiped away by the bombastic fervour of his commitment to Aris First after his round-the-world flight. Passionate, young, aggressive, adventurous, seductive, he was everything Aris First needed to contrast the stoic Raft Wood and to rile up the youth into a nationalistic frenzy. Few suspected that his ambitions went far beyond the isolationism of his colleague, and those that did notice found their objections falling on deaf ears as his influence grew and his followers grew more zealous. Now with Raft Wood out of the picture, Hippogriffia is under the full control of Crack Lightning, and there is little doubt that "The Ace," as his followers call him, will put the country's considerable might towards creating the Hegemony he dreams of. Hardened Officer
|
Born: 1st of December, 971 in Winggarden.
A harsh and demanding officer, Colonel Razorbeak has spent most of her career as an instructor at Hippogriffia's military academies, attempting to weed out weakness among future officers. Her involvement in the Phalanx, once considered a career-limiting move, led her into Crack Lightning's inner circle during his brief rule as dictator of Aris. Even when the rest of the Phalanx turned on him, Razorbeak remained loyal. Lightning's assassination and the bloody fighting which followed has seen Razorbeak take over as Supreme Commander of Aris, unleashing her signature cold-hearted violence on those who failed The Ace. She now rules with an iron claw, seeking to weed out weakness among the entire Hippogriff race in the same way she once did to cadets at the academy, now completely unrestrained by law and oversight. The people of Aris once called Crack Lightning a tyrant, but Razorbeak is determined to show them real tyranny, and to mould the next generation into a nation of fanatics who will succeed where their parents failed. Born: 31st of August, 966 in Mount Aris.
Biography: Plumage Moonfeather was born to an affluent family steeped in the values of a harmonic society. The only child of a judge and a captain of the Royal Guard, his loving parents catered to his every need. He received a world class education at some of the country's premier institutions. After graduating from university he entered the private sector... ...and became one of the world's most ruthless businessgriffs. With one claw he cut down the competition, using corporate espionage and market manipulation to destroy rival companies. With the other claw he brutally oppressed the workers, hiring thugs to break up strikes and blackmailing union organizers. These tactics earned him riches but also made him a social pariah, something he never seemed to mind. While the Storm King's arrival was a traumatic event for most hippogriffs, Plumage took it very differently. In private conversations he would later deny, he admired how much wealth the yeti had acquired through conquest and wondered aloud if a hippogriff could emulate his "success." Despite his massive economic influence, Plumage has always been politically isolated. Leftists and harmonists alike are disgusted by his cruel business practices, while conservatives bemoan his lack of patriotism. Now that he's attained a position of power the future of Hippogriffia, and all of North Zebrica, looks very bleak. Portrait By: Tofkov |

Lucy Duskfeather |
See description:
Born: 8th of July, 973 ALB on Mount Aris
Biography: Born high above the land atop Mount Aris, Lucy Duskfeather had grown to enjoy and eventually love the great heights of her home. Born to a high-middle class commoner family, Lucy was originally intended to succeed her mother and take over a local bakery business. Tensions in the family resulted from this as soon as the young Hippogriff reached the age of 14 and made it known that she intended to join the local scouts which her parents objected to. After a month-long deadlock and emotions flaring both towards sadness and anger, her parents relented and sent her off. To this day, Lucy would go on to say that her time in the scouts on Mount Aris was perhaps the second most impactful time of her life, with only the Storm King's invasion overtaking it. She found herself quick to reach out to her fellow hippogriffs to make friends and allies, and generally enjoyed the experience of developing new and existing skills and using them to tackle challenge after challenge. As she left the scouts and looked to her future, her parents had come to terms with their daughter's ambitions, and Lucy went on to attend the Royal Seaquestrian Military Academy at the age of 20. She would go on to become an overall adequate officer, but developed a particular hunch for combat in greater and greater heights, taking great inspiration from her childhood on Mount Aris, to the point where some of her subordinates wondered why she had joined the Army and not the Air Force. A Major-General by the time, Lucy chafed under the Storm King's reign, being forced beneath the waves by the Queen where her skills were made useless. The subsequent defeat of the King, however, made her all the more expressive that, if Hippogriffia should ever again come under siege, they should utilise the great peaks and heights of their mountain for safety, not the depths of Seaquestria. Privately, the newly minted Lieutenant-General came to blame the left-wingers among society for the humiliating plunder of Aris, coming to see socialists more as somegriffs that failed to make friends in society, and thus resorted to sabotaging a society they thought had failed them. A harsh and demanding officer, Colonel Razorbeak has spent most of her career as an instructor at Hippogriffia's military academies, attempting to weed out weakness among future officers. Her career peaked at colonel due to her controversial methods and alleged ties to far-right organizations, and she has made many enemies over the years. Still, the high command frequently calls upon her to lead strike forces when raw aggression and an iron will are needed to carry the day. Portrait By: Egil |

Gameplay
Starting situation
Hippogriffia sits as an nation largely made up of islands with a foothold in Zebrica is the form of the Zumidian mandate. It's one starts with one of the largest industrial bases in Zebrica and has a modern society and scientific base. It's many advantages are offset by the Isolation/Splendid Isolation law which severely hampers further industrial growth and prevents any foreign involvement.
Hippogriff territory consists the main island, 3 nearby offshore islands, 3 outer islands and the Zumidian mandate on mainland Zebrica. The main island lacks any attachment to mainland Zebrica making it so naval travel is the only way to make it between the two locations. The Zumidian mandate starts off as an uncored territory that can later be made into a core by progressing most paths of the focus tree. Hippogriffia starts out on volunteer only with the export focus economy with negligible poverty and illiteracy
Threats and opportunities
Chiropterra: Chiropterra, along with Colthage, is likely going to be one of your largest enemies in the North Zebrican War. They will likely expand into Tobuck and Zaratania before invading Warzena and then Hippogriffia.
Colthage: Sitting directly to the north east of the Zumidian mandate, Colthage is likely to going to declare war on Hippogriffia as soon as they solve their internal issue in order to seize Zumidia. If Colthage is to go communist, they are likely to join Hippogriffia's faction if they are also harmonist
Tobuck: If not already conquered, Tobuck serves as a relatively easy to invade and will most likely not declare war on Hippogriffia.
Warzena: Sitting to the south of the Zumidian mandate, Warzena serves as either an ally in the North Zebrican War or as a relatively easy to conquer neighbor depending on the path taken. If an expansionist path in taken, it would be smart to invade them before Chiropterra is able to in order to secure Zumidia's southern border.
Wingbardy: If Wingbardy goes down their fascist tree and Colthage aligns with Chiropterra, it is likely that during the North Zebrican War they will intervene to try to take some of Hippogriffia's outlying islands. If this happens, the North Zebrican War will likely be a loss as taking on all three powers at the same time will likely prove too much.
Zarantia: Zaratania, depending on the path and if they aren't already conquered, will either serve as relatively easy land to take or as a peaceful neighbor if they manage to stay alive.
Paths
All of Hippogriffia's routes are directly affected by the North Zebrican War against Chiropterra,
Colthage and potentially
Wingbardy, where the aftermath of victory or defeat will significantly alter the course of events.
WIP
WIP
This is an extended route route that replaces the regular military and primacy focus subtrees with its own, multi-stage focus subtree. Military spirits from the regular tree will not be retained in this route, although other bonuses (such as research and factories) will be kept.
Early in the game the player will be presented with three events involving Queen Novo facing left-wing agitation, where taking a harsh stance will increase communism support by 5%; doing this at least twice is necessary to get the 20% support required for the Organize The Left focus (it may also be desirable to avoid too many decisions in other events that strengthen
Aris First). Once this focus is taken, various decisions become available to raise communism support further to the 50% required for The Marksist Revolution.
After completing the next focuses, Posada becomes the head of government for the new state of Revolutionary North Zebrica. Losing the North Zebrican War, or use of excessively brutal methods after winning the war, will result in her replacement by a different leader, and the communist focuses will change as the RNZ copes with the crisis and explores alternative avenues of socialism. For the 'full' Posada experience, it is necessary to avoid these outcomes.
The first phase of the Posada focuses broadly involve political, military and economic restructuring. One focus involves allying with the Kingdom of Warzena if it is communist or subjugating it if not, and another unlocks the ability to core most North Zebrican states with sufficient compliance.
The second phase has one branch for dealing with Chiropterra and
Colthage, including the postwar deradicalization of Chiropterra and seizing of its technology. Other regional states will subsequently also be brought into the revolutionary fold. Another branch deals with further sociopolitical and economic developments, including unlocking the fifth research slot. The early stages of Revolutionary North Zebrica's nuclear and advanced armaments program are included in this phase. Completing this phase requires RNZ to control all of North Zebrica directly or through a subject/faction member, and possess at least one nuclear weapon.
In the third phase, more nuclear-related focuses are provided, along with some esoteric options involving space exploration and paranormal study. Another branch involves diplomatic relations with other communist countries worldwide.
After completing War Plan Hydrogen, the final focus in this phase, the player must decide whether to proceed with Posada's eponymous plan to make war on all supremacist states in the world. Doing so will provide a military focus branch to support this effort; otherwise, a couple of focuses become available for a more peaceful approach to internationalism and post-scarcity. Using a thermonuclear weapon during War Plan Hydrogen results in a 'bad end' event. If Hydrogen is not enacted or is won without such weapons, the route concludes with a few epilogue focuses and events.
